Have you ever thought about leaving your home country for broader horizons?
Aside from the craziness of 2020, a huge opportunity happened as well.
See, there was an enormous increase in people moving abroad, and being a digital nomad made it possible.
How do I know?
I’m one of the folks who did it!
My husband and I moved from Columbus, Ohio to Dar es Salaam Tanzania.
Our businesses were thriving and I was serving my American clients abroad as a freelance writer, marketing consultant, and speaker🙌🏾
Now, I’m still here in Tanzania after two years, but today I’m going to give you a strategy so that you too can live the travel abroad life and hop on the freedom-based life bandwagon.
Interesting Digital Nomad Visas for 2023 and Beyond

Digital nomads are people who work remotely and travel the world slowly or hop from country to country. They’re able to fund this “dream” lifestyle through their business, investments, or remote work (yes, w2)
That’s the simple way of explaining what a digital nomad is now, let’s look at a few unique countries that are offering digital nomad visas around the world.
Namibia Digital Nomad Visa: Namibia came out with a new digital nomad visa as of 10/19/2022. It’s pretty incredible because it only costs $62! Yes, sounds crazy right? Nope, it gets better.
You only need to prove that you make $2,000 per month and show your bank statements then boom – you can have a 6-month visa. This is going to be mesmerizing for those of you who are new to the nomad lifestyle and want to travel on a budget.
Other places in Europe like Portugal and Greece make you pay higher fees so you’re getting a bang for your buck with this new one.
Let me know in the comments if you’d like to visit Namibia.
Cabo Verde Digital Nomad Visa: Cabo Verde is an African country that is off the coast of Senegal in West Africa.
It is renowned for having gorgeous beaches, incredible views, and freedom that most of us in the West wish we could have. Including an ultra-affordable lifestyle.

Back in December 2020, their nomad visa was launched and it allows remote workers, founders, and business owners to live and work there for 6-months – it’s renewable if you’d like to stay longer.
Seychelles Nomad Visa: This is another African country, that happens to be an island. Seychelles is off the coast of East Africa not too far from Madagascar (yes, like the movie!)
Tourists are known for coming to this area to get a glimpse of the precious views and incredible beaches.
Similar to Namibia and Cabo Verde the cost of living here is a fraction of the price of what you’d pay in the US, Europe, or Canada.
If you’d like to escape inflation and secure yourself during the coming recessions and famines this might be a good option.
In Seychelles, you can stay up to a year on a digital nomad visa and it’s available for workers and the self-employed.
Mauritius Digital Nomad Visa: Mauritius is the last country on the list and it’s an island country as well. This Digital Nomad or “Premium Visa” enables people like you and me to come into the country for up to a year.
It’s smack dab in the middle of Asia and Africa and the views of the mountains nearly meeting the ocean is just flawless. Looking at Mauritius is almost like a dream – the country is immaculate.
Their application is FREE yes, free! They even state they’ll give you approval or denial within a day or two.
Just show your travel insurance, prove you make $1,500 per month and you’re good to go.
