Most people travel for the obvious reason; VACATION. Which is always a good reason right? I mean we work hard all year so we should spend our hard earned money on memories that will last a lifetime.
Traveling is NEVER a waste of money! I mean think about it. You’re investing in memories, experiences, stress relief, adventures and the opportunity to learn about other cultures!!
Whether you start out traveling the states, jump on a cruise or go to foreign countries, you can always meet new people and learn a new way of life. That is why I say it is NEVER a waste of money. Especially if you have kids. Just think if we travel from the time we are little we will be so knowledgeable about the world and life outside of our little circle or neighborhood. Travelers are well rounded, intelligent people.
When I’m in my retirement age I want to know that I didn’t waste my life on material things. Yeah that designer purse will always be there and can’t really teach you anything about life (except how to waste money).
So you don’t think traveling is in your budget? Well I say make room for it! If you save just a little bit all year and travel every 2 to 3 years you should be able to afford a decent vacation or travel destination. We make money and time for the things we want to make time for. Maybe you should stop eating out so much, or shopping excessively.
Why is traveling sooooo important? This day in age we live in today there is no excuse why you can’t venture ALL over the world in your lifetime. We learn new cultures, new ways of life, gain understanding, become less judge mental and appreciate what we have at home. OR maybe you are so enthralled with your latest destination that you realize life in the States isn’t for you.
Instead of spoiling our kids with material items, shoes, clothes etc.. we should invest our time and money in something that will shape their whole life! Crossing barriers and connecting with people in different cultures, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Spain, China, Korea, Japan, Switzerland, Australia, just to name a few! Think of the world lessons your kids could learn, the appreciation for different kinds of people and being able to look back and really appreciate everything you have!
Start little with nearby attractions, then go to other states, the other side of the country then branch out to different countries! This world has endless opportunities especially with all the technology and different ways of getting around.
So I say to you if you haven’t already considered traveling you definitely should!!! What in the world do you have to lose?
